    Jamie Nuich

    Legal Practitioner Director

Jamie is the founder and Legal Practitioner Director of Astris Law. She built the practice to serve directors and business leaders directly - one relationship covering commercial advice and litigation, without the layers and handoffs of a traditional firm.

She works across corporate and commercial law, commercial litigation, regulatory compliance, employment law and anti-money laundering. Her clients include directors and officers in financial services, construction, health, technology, transport, gambling, agribusiness and not-for-profit organisations.

Jamie has advocacy experience and can run applications and trials without briefing external counsel where appropriate, reducing costs for clients on suitable matters. This means her clients get continuity from first advice through to hearing - the same lawyer who knows the business is the one presenting the case.

    Solicitor Advocate Experience

Unlike many commercial solicitors, Jamie has advocacy experience and regularly appears in courts and tribunals on behalf of her clients. She can run applications, interlocutory hearings and trials without the need to brief external barristers where the matter is suitable.

This means her clients benefit from continuity - the lawyer who advised on the transaction or compliance issue is the same lawyer presenting the case. It also reduces costs, because there is no second counsel to instruct, brief and pay. For complex matters where briefing counsel is appropriate, Jamie works with a network of barristers she trusts and manages the relationship directly.
